Change of Season Soup





When seasons change, and temperature gets colder, the body uses all its resources to adapt to this changes, this makes us prone to catch colds and flu.


The Change of Season Soup was created by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to boost our immune system and helps us fight colds.


It contains a mix of herbs that will help our body manage the stress caused by this changes.


Herbs:


  1. Codonopsis Root (Dang Shen): Tonifies and Strengthens QI, nourishes fluids and tonifies the lungs. Is and adaptogen herb, which means help the body prepare for stress.

  2. Astragalus Root ( Huan Qi). Reinforces and boost QI, Tonifies blood, promotes regeneration and increases white blood cell count (fighting cells)

  3. Discorea Sinensis (Wild yam/ Shan Yao): Reinforces QI, tonifies and benefits the lungs and kidneys. Is a great anti inflammatory.

  4. Goji Berries (Gou Qi): Enriches the Kidneys, Supplements the liver. Used to treat cough.




Instructions:


Mix equal parts of herbs ( approx 2-3oz each)

Boil herbs in big pot with 2-4 lt of water/bone broth/ chicken broth for 2-4 hours.

Refill water as necessary. Remove the herbs with a strainer.


Save the broth in glass containers and re heat as needed


Adults: Drink 1 cup a day for a week.

Children: Drink 1/2 a cup a day for a week


This herbs will give the broth a bitter taste. It can be drink alone as a broth or added to a hearty chicken soup for a more nutritious and tastier option.
