What's for Dessert? YUM!


Are you always craving for something sweet? Here is an option that will indulge your cravings, and is loaded with antioxidants, fiber and Omega 3.

Chia seed pudding takes only takes 5 minutes to prepare, you can make a whole batch and save it in different containers in the fridge. Have it ready and to go. Eat it as breakfast or dessert. Play with the recipe, add chocolate, bananas or berries, find which one you like the most.

SOME FACTS ABOUT CHIA SEEDS:

* Chia seeds grow in South America and they are considered a Super-food.

* The word "CHIA" means "STRENGTH" in Mayan dialect.

* Chia seeds carry several vitamin Bs, and are rich in calcium iron, magnesium, manganese , phosphorus and zinc.

* 1 ounce of Chia seeds have 18% of the daily Calcium needs (that is more than in skim milk!)

* They are a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Some of the benefits of Omega 3 are that they are a "good" fat, that means that may lower the risk of heart disease, depression, dementia, and inflammatory diseases.

* They provide almost 11 grams per ounce of fiber. That is almost 50% of your daily recommendation. This means that they would help your gut health and balance the glucose and insulin levels.

CHIA PUDDING RECIPE

Prep Time: 5 minutes

For 4 servings

Ingredients:

* 2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk

* 1/2 cup of Chia Seeds

* 1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla extract

* 1/4 cup of Maple syrup

* Cinnamon powder

Instructions

1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 2 minutes or until it is completely mixed and smooth.

2. Poor mix in small glass containers

3. Leave them in the fridge for at least 3 hours.

4. Add chocolate, berries, or any other fruit. Change the maple syrup, for honey or a different sweetener.

5. ENJOY! Have it as breakfast, snack or dessert.
